Oilist makes oil paintings of photos

You can choose from many known artist's styles or create your own. It feels like the variabilities are endless. The paintings can be very detailed with thousands of brush strokes. That also means they can take long to render. A couple of minutes isn't unusual. The magic takes place before your eyes. Zoom in to see the strokes.

Wow! That's really creative, they would look really good if you blew up your photograph on a canvas. 

Wait, so this takes pictures you have taken and turns them into an oil painting?

#3: Exactly. Not with wet paint, but it mimics the look of painting with oil. Take a look at the original photos. They are pretty far from what the app did. The first one you probably wouldn’t be able to guess what was in the original photo.

I have sped it up, but otherwise this is what it looks like when a painting is rendered.

I wonder what it would cost to get a big print made to hang up

I saw a Swedish company offering a 120 x 80 centimeter canvas print at around 150 USD. There probably are cheaper ones.
