Tips & How to’s

How to take good pictures of clothes?

2018-08-23 21:01 #0 by: Leia

Hey!

I have a big pile of clothes I want to sell on Depop, does anyone have some tips or suggestions of the best way to take good pictures?

I figured the better the pictures, the easier it is to sell.

All the best, Leia

I hang up the clothes on a wooden hanger, hanging on a nail on an all white well that is in bright lighting - best is natural sunlight. Depending on the shadows you might need an additional light from the floor but positioned upwards, if that makes sense, or another position.

Yes, hang on a wall. Preferably a white wall by a (large, if possible) window without direct sunlight. The white wall is good to have as a reference when you adjust colors so that the photo shows the garments right colors. The light coming sideways from the window will bring out the structure of the fabrics.

Feel free to start a new thread when you need help editing the photos. :-)

Best regards, Niklas
